Thomas John Rose is the fifth-born child of King Stephen Rose and Queen Charlotte Rose. He is a twin, born 15 minutes before Linnea Rose Westbrook.[1] At his naming ceremony, Thomas was given the gift of grace, though it is often interpreted as the gift of charm. Although Thomas is close with all twelve of his siblings, he has special bonds with William and Linnea. He often assists William in his medical practices, although he is not interested in becoming a healer himself.
He is often a viewpoint character in nearly all of the books.

Thomas has very short black curly hair, gray eyes, and high cheekbones. He is slightly shorter than Will, but broader and more muscular.[1]
